Cup standard
Flour (plain, cake) · volume 240ml
Why the ingredient matters
A cup of flour is 120g, a cup of sugar is 200g, a cup of honey is 284g. Same volume, different density. Treat every cup as the same weight and your baking will almost certainly fail.
Flour (plain, cake) — Sift it and level the cup off — do not heap or pack it
Currently using a 240ml cup, 15ml tablespoon and 5ml teaspoon. Check which cup your recipe was written with — the two differ by 20%.
