It's usually in your syllabus, listed as the percentage the final exam counts toward your final grade — often somewhere between 20% and 40%. If it isn't listed, ask your instructor directly.
QWhat if my required score is over 100?
It means a perfect score on the final still won't reach your target grade. Your options are to raise your grade through other coursework before the final, or accept a lower final grade.
QWhat if my required score is negative?
You've already secured your target grade regardless of what you score on the final. Just be aware that skipping an exam entirely can sometimes have other consequences (an incomplete, a failing mark for non-attendance) depending on your school's rules — check those separately.
