Add up every piece that gets interfaced — on a shirt that is two collar pieces, two collar stands, two cuffs and two front bands, roughly 3,000 cm² (0.3 m²). On 90 cm interfacing, 3,000 ÷ 90 = 33.3 cm would do it, but the pieces are not rectangles and leave gaps, so 25% on top makes it 41.7 cm. The 8.3 cm difference is what ends up as offcuts.

Interfacing needed = Area to interface × (1 + Spare ÷ 100) ÷ Interfacing width
